Cookbook Love

As much as I hate to say there are “keys” to weight loss because I think there is only one key (burn more calories than you eat), I will say that a key for me is to cook at home. I’m sure that this is a key because I control what I’m eating and I eat less. One of the best cookbooks I’ve come across is the Weight Watchers cookbook. I guess this is one of those state the obvious kind of things, but Weight Watchers makes a great cookbook, so great in fact that M and I both owned a copy when we met.**

And see, even my dog thought the food from the cookbook was so good that he tried to eat it!

We’re eating four recipes from the cookbook this week. Our old friend, sun dried tomato zucchini risotto:

(ate it tonight and it was delicious as always)
And some new friends, spanish tortilla…

(dinner on Thursday or Friday)
Pappardelle with Shrimp…

(had it last night; the sauce scared me at first because it involves eggs and sort of turns out like scrambled eggs [or at least mine did], but it was delicious and the shrimp was a nice change of scenery as I don’t cook with seafood much)

and the only unpictured item Cheese Manicotti:

(Thursday or Friday).

A great feature of this cookbook is that it gives you the nutrition information of the recipes. While I know it is possible to figure out nutrition info for recipes it is much easier not to have to :) An added bonus is that all of this nutrition info seems to be in Daily Plate.

**Some day this may be a give away, but it’ll be used (the other copy hasn’t been chewed on by the dog), but I’m not sure people would want a used cookbook. Thoughts?

If you ever give it away I will of course be glad to take it! ha. Are we going to get together sometime soon? Are you going to be around Bburg at Christmas? We are heading there from the 23rd-Jan. 2.
