Today was a great great great day for my first Fit Friday.
First, I weighed myself as soon as I woke up. Hello, lowest weight to date!! I was pretty stoked. Perfect thing to see when I’m trying to kick start myself back into business. Also really proves to me how important my eating is because this week was pretty standard workout wise but pretty great food wise and look what happens! (I think I weighed in at nearly 4 pounds more last week but I’m sure some of that was water retention or this is water loss so I’d hate to speculate).
Second, I woke up at 6:30 a.m. (normally I wake at 7/7:15) and I ran 3 miles. I knew I wouldn’t work out after work because I won free Kings of Leon tickets and the concert is tonight. I decided to do the miles slow and it felt great. I had recently convinced myself that morning workouts didn’t actually make me feel more awake during the day, but this workout proved me so wrong. I got less sleep and felt great all day. No more excuses about morning work outs.
Third, I meant my girlfriends for lunch at the mall. The plan was to eat at Chick-Fil-A. I opted for Subway next door to the Chick-Fil-A. No cheese, wheat bread, veggies and low fat honey mustard with some baked lays. Perfect lunch.
Fourth, as soon as M walked in the door I asked what he wanted to do for dinner and suggested that I make the frittata that was in my menu plan. M said sure and I whipped it together quickly. Great meal, about 550 calories for half. This was a particular success because normally we have a tendency to go out to eat before concerts.
So for my first Fit Friday I would have to say I’m chugging along quite well. I’ve run 12 miles so far this week with at least 8 planned for tomorrow. I’m hoping to get a bike ride in on Sunday. One challenge for this weekend will be dinner at PF Changs with my parents tomorrow night but I’m going to check out their nutrition info so I can make a good decision.
How were your weeks? Did you have any NSV (non-scale victories)? Please share!
It sounds like a great day!
I did have a nsv this week. I saw a friend I had not seen in some time and his jaw hit the floor. He could not believe how different I looked. That felt pretty awesome.
