I had grand plans of doing a 45+ mile bike ride today. Had a bit of a scheduling issue and decided to do 25 miles instead. About 10 miles in I realized that eating really erratic today (bowl of cereal at 11 a.m. was the most substantive thing I ate all day) was leaving absolutely starving. I decided to make the bike ride an hour and call it a day. I ended up biking 17.9 miles in 60 minutes.
In other news, this week after work is pretty tame so I’m hoping to get in a really good week of work outs (only 3 weeks until the first triathlon). Here’s my plan (exercise before the / are a.m., after p.m.):
- Monday: Shred Level I/30 minute swim and 30 minute easy run
- Tuesday: 20 minutes of yoga/60 minute interval bike ride
- Wednesday: Shred Level I/60 minute long run outside
- Thursday: 30-40 minute swim/nothing
- Friday: Shred Level I
- Saturday: 45 minute interval run
- Sunday: 2 hour bike ride
I haven’t really been using a plan for the last several weeks and I think my swimming particularly is being hit hard by this. I have been neglecting it. I have also not been lifting weights as much as I would like to, so I’ve added the Shred back in. I’m gong to just do it for 20 minutes right when I wake up. The best part is that I can do it without waking up earlier and just leave a little later, so basically there’s no downside to it!
Also, tomorrow I am going to try to make my first green monster! I hope they are as amazing as I hear they are!
Do you have a rest day scheduled in there?
I think you will like the green monster. As long as you make your first one with a sweet fruit – you will be fine! It really just tastes like the fruit you add to it.
