A little time trial and a little yoga go a long way…

I wore a belt today that I haven’t worn…since I bought it at least 3 years go (yeah I’m not so smart sometimes).

I packed my lunch & snacks for the day which were, as promised, the exact same as yesterday.

I came home this afternoon and went on a 12.5 mile bike ride in 42:23. The bike portion of the triathlon is not so coincidentally 12.5 miles, so I suppose this was a bit of a time trial. I again had issues with the wind. My average pace was 17.7 mph.

When I got home, I did the C&K Strength Training Plan again tonight. I should say I modify it a bit, but really only slightly:

  1. I keep my legs in pretty close when doing the chair dips. The further out your legs are the more weight you are putting on your triceps. I thought my triceps were strong until I tried chair dips. I cannot put my legs as far out as Kath’s in that picture.
  2. Today I did 5 sets of 20 seconds on the wall sits. I didn’t really feel the burn doing the ten second ones, but holy cow can I feel it at about second 12. The next 8 seconds are excruciating.

I took a few self timer pics while doing some of the moves. Pushup (that’s better form than I expected)…

And my favorite strength move…the bicycle crunch.

As much as I love the bicycle crunch, I hate hate hate hate hate hate hate lunges. They are extremely painful for me. I think it may be all the cycling. I can feel the pain in my quads when I do these like no other. However, I fight off the pain and do it anyway.

Next I did another session of Power Yoga. I did 7 more minutes of it tonight. I still didn’t manage to finish the whole video (although it’s supposed to be 20 minutes and I did over 20 so I’m not sure what that’s all about). I think I might actually be starting to like yoga!

For dinner, the fabulous M made his famous salsa chicken, which is always good. I picked up some more food at Target after work today, including the above pictured food. That’s my favorite item at the Indian buffet that I go to every now and then. This version was pretty good, super easy to make (cut a whole in the package, which doesn’t have to be refrigerated, microwave for 2 minutes and it’s ready), and the list of ingredients was great! It was completely natural stuff that I recognized. My plate looked like this…

Another good day overall…

Luna Bar 180
Oatmeal 160
Pita Chips and Hummus 170
Salad 295
Pineapple 100
Granola Bar 100
Cottage Cheese in Spinach Sauce 332
Salsa Chicken 160
Skinny Cow 150
TOTAL 1647

What’s your least favorite work out move??

    Nice pushup form!

My least favorite exercise is probably lunges as well. Although they aren't that painful. I would rather do squats.

Do you do enough stretching? That helps keep the quads limber.

You're so adorable! I love the look of determination (or is it pain?) on your face in the push up picture. You're looking skinny!!!
