Food & work out, Day 3

I don’t know what I was thinking saying that I was going to do two posts a day. I just can’t make that commitment and I should have known that considering some days one post is hard. So back to one post a day.

Today was scheduled to be a one a.m. workout day. The alarm went off at 6 a.m. and I decided getting another hour and change of sleep was more in my interest so I went back to sleep. Thankfully, this worked out for me and I was able to get the work out in after work before kickball (that’s right, I play kickball — we lost this week though). I got home from work and ate a quick dinner with M and then went to the gym and ran 4.5 miles in 47:20. I was trying to run 5 miles but I just didn’t have the time, so I settled for 4.5. I need to slow down on these runs too because that’s what you are supposed to do on long runs. Next week I hope I have more time for the long run.

Food today was good again, and presented my first eating out challenge. A co-worker

and I decided to do lunch at the last minute and she suggested 3 places — a local cafe (no way to figure out calories), Paradise Cafe (not terrible to find healthy but not the easiest, especially with the free cookie) and sushi so I opted for sushi. I had a tuna roll, california roll, and miso soup and then checked out the calories on the web (to look up calories like this I just google the food item and nutrition info). I would also recommend using either fitday.com or livestrong.com’s daily plate. A bit under calories today but not too

8:00 a.m. Banana 105
9:00 a.m. Oatmeal 160
11:45 p.m. Carrots 35
12:30 p.m. California Roll 255
12:30 p.m. Tuna Roll 184
12:30 p.m. Miso Soup 36
4:00 p.m. Cantaloupe 50
6:30 p.m. Voila Garlic Shrimp 400
10:00 p.m. Ice Cream Sandwich 140
TOTAL 1365

Tomorrow will present a new challenge: eating out at a place I didn’t pick. I’m going to go try to find nutrition info now.
