I have officially signed up for the Indianapolis Half Marathon on October 17, 2009. This will be my first (of hopefully many) non-Mini Marathon half marathon. I’m completely pumped for it (even though its after the Mini) because I have a tendency after the Mini to quit running for several months, which usually results in weight gain, loss of speed, and loss of endurance (duh, duh and duh!), so I wanted something to motivate me to keep running and I anticipate this will be the perfect trick!
I didn’t make it to the gym this morning because of daylight savings time (at least that’s the excuse I’m using right now) so instead of calling the day a wash (like I have for the past several Mondays in a row when I haven’t been able to make it out of bed) today I decided that I’d get in a run in after work and I’d do it outside! I asked M if he wanted to join alongside me on a bike and he was all for it (he has a knee injury/issue preventing him from running right now). M did the first 2.6 miles with me and then we stopped back at the house. I almost quit for good but decided to head back out for another loop around the neighborhood. I ended up doing 3.44 miles in 34:50. I’m still not used to running outside but it’ll get better as I start doing it more as the weather improves.

I keep forgetting to mention that last week M and I started the One Hundred Push-Ups 6 week program. We are doing them on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays. I was originally doing real pushups but I’m too weak and M says I’m cheating when I do them, so I’m bumping down to girly pushups but going to the harder plan (I was doing the medium plan). I think we are going to do the 6 week program twice: I’m going to do girl pushups the first time and real pushups next time. M is doing real pushups this time and going to use his Perfect Pushups the second time. I’m hoping the result for me is Michelle’s arms
