Well today was a win for a couple of reasons (1) the earlier blog; (2) ate fairly healthy when I ate out for breakfast (not by choice); (3) had 1/2 a delicious dinner; (4) didn’t have any candy today (not even fun sized!); and (5) I think I’m down about 5 pounds since Sunday afternoon. Now don’t go think I’m starving myself and that’s how I lost 5 pounds in a few days. In fact, given that I post my food daily, you should know I’m definitely not starving. I’m sure a lot of that weight, as typical when starting a “diet/lifestyle change” is water weight. Additionally, I think a lot of the excess weight I had (I was about 7 pounds heavier Sunday than I was before I went on my Thanksgiving trip on Wednesday) was some sort of water/sugar weight from crap I ate over Thanksgiving. I realize that is not logical, probably has no nutritional basis, etc., but something has to explain it!
So bad part of the day (if there must be one) is that I didn’t work out this morning. I planned this so it’s actually not a big deal, nor a disappointment. I knew that last night would be a late night and then it turned out I had a breakfast at 8 a.m. this morning (I found out about 3 p.m. yesterday) so the combination of those two things made me think it might be best if I take the day off. My legs were also aching a bit from the increase in running so they needed a break too. Back to the gym tomorrow morning though!
Onto the food for the day:
B: Ate out (because I had to). Had an omelet made with low calorie/cholesterol eggs that also had sundried tomatoes, avocado and some other things. Ate two of the pieces of toast (which I think was one piece of bread total) and had fruit instead of potatoes. I think, overall, I made good decisions eating out.
L: Lean Cuisine Swedish Meetballs
S: Chips Ahoy 100 cal bar. Also YUCK which is seriously unfortunate. Going to have to find a 100 cal alternative. Thankfully there are a lot of options out there for this nowadays.
D: So there’s a story that goes with this dinner. A month and a half ago I came across a recipe for sweet potato fries and decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, at the time, the only knives I had in my apartment were apparently as sharp as a butter knife so I felt like I was hacking a sweet potato apart. The fries ended up being delicious but I decided I needed new knives before I ever tried the recipe again. Lucky for me, my good high school friend had invited me to a Pampered Chef party that was 2 or 3 days after the sweet potato incident. I ordered myself plenty of new gadgets, that I’m sure I’ll be talking lots about, but most importantly I invested in 3 lifetime warranty knives. I got my order yesterday but wasn’t home last night. I decided that tonight I’d try the sweet potato fries again. The new knife was incredible! And the sweet potato fries turned out even better. This is the recipe I used. And these are how my fries turned out:
I also made some rice in my new microwave cooker. The rice was very good, but my cooker made a mess of my microwave. I think I put too much rice and water in for the size.

I’ve been eating Quaker Chewy Granola bars (100 cal for the regular, 90 cal for low fat), and string cheese (generally 80-90 cals). I got sick of the 100-cal packs of chips and stuff.
And I put this blog at the top of my browser so I’m actually going to check on you and pester you if you stop blogging… I have six weeks till I go to officer training (YIKES) so this will be good inspiration for me
